Make the Cake: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. In a large saucepan, bring the butter, water and cocoa just to a boil. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla and eggs.
Add buttermilk mixture then whisk all ingredients together for one minute.
Pour the batter into the pan and smooth over the top.
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl mix together the flour, sugar baking soda and salt. In a measuring cup, pour the buttermilk and add beaten eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. In a small saucepan, melt butter; add milk and cocoa.
